How to adjust the partition size of windows7? How to increase the C drive without loss?

I used the Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit operating system. I originally allocated 100G space to the C drive. I thought it was enough. I didn't expect it to be full soon. The result of the C drive is full, the computer is getting slower and slower, and it is easy to make mistakes. How can I change the partition size without loss of data, and increase the space for the C drive? Win7 has been very easy to do; I will take everyone together to do it again. The whole operation must be very careful. Otherwise, you will have to restore  partition. It‘s very trouble!

First, go to the left and right of the desktop of the computer and find the "computer." After finding the computer name, place the mouse on it, then click the right mouse button and select "Manage," then the "Computer Management" dialog box will pop up. (For the computer management dialog, the easier way is to place the mouse on the "My Computer" on the desktop, and then right-click on "Manage" is the same).

After the computer management window pops up, we can see the “Disk Management” tab on the left side. After clicking the Disk Management tab, the partition information of each partition of the computer disk will be displayed on the right side. Then we can select a free space comparison. The large disk is compressed. For example, if we want to adjust some disk space of the D disk to the C disk, then we can select the D disk volume, then click the right mouse button, and then click the "compress volume" with the left mouse button.

At this time, the "query compression space" will be displayed, which is to calculate how much space can be allocated to the C drive.

After that, we can choose a disk with a large free space for compression. For example, we want to adjust some disk space of the D disk to the C disk; then we can select the D disk volume, then click the right mouse button on it to pop up. In the menu, select "Compressed Volume" and fill in the amount of space to be compressed in the input compressed space (MB). If you want to compress 50G, fill in 50GX1024MB=51200M, then we can fill in 51200.

After patiently waiting, be careful not to operate the computer during this period, you may be prompted that the program is not responding, do not tamper with it, after compression, we can see that there is a green partitioned "unpartitioned disk" in the disk volume.

Finally, we only need to allocate the unpartitioned disk space to the C drive. The operation steps are right click on the drive letter that needs to expand the capacity, such as the C drive, and then selects "Extended Volume (X)" in the menu that is discussed. After that, the following extended volume operation wizard dialog box will pop up. We choose to expand to the system disk (C drive) and then click the next step to complete the operation. Now we have successfully adjusted the C drive partition size.

If you find that the "Extended Volume (X)" is gray, you can't select it, as shown below. This is a problem that many netizens are confused. To achieve the Win7 C disk expansion volume, it must be extended from the adjacent D disk, that is, how to merge the disk partition windows7 to adjust the partition size method. If you want to expand the C disk capacity, Then the green unpartitioned disk that we compressed before must be on the right side of the C drive, and the green unpartitioned disk that was previously wronged by everyone is not immediately adjacent to the right side of the C drive, which is why the C drive cannot expand the volume. . As shown in the figure below, it is a part of the green unpartitioned disk compressed by the author from the D disk. We can find the "extended volume" is operable by right-clicking on the D disk.

C drive can not expand the volume, that is to say, if you want to achieve C drive expansion, then the compressed green ID is allocated to the right side of the C drive, which is equivalent to the C drive to expand other volumes, the other is not compressed The disk volume must be with the CP disk, and the other disks cannot be separated. Therefore, if you want to expand the C disk volume, you can delete the entire D disk, then right click on the C disk, and then select "Extended Volume."

Maybe everyone will think that the D drive may have a large capacity, and the C drive only needs to expand some. For this problem, it is also very good solution. First, we can compress a part of the space on the D disk, and then delete the remaining D disk, then expand the remaining D disk capacity to the C disk, before the D disk compression Part of the drive, you can re-create a new D disk partition.

Compressing and deleting the D drive will erase all the data files of the original D drive. It is recommended that you need to expand the C drive space. Please select the critical data files on the D drive to other disks.

Expand the capacity of the C drive without affecting the original C drive data.
